1 Egg
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 tablespoon Milk
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 teaspoon Kosher Salt
3 cups Flour
3 cups Powdered Sugar
1/4 cup Light Corn Syrup
1/4 cup Milk
1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Black Food Coloring

Super easy and kid-friendly to make, these butter cut-out cookies coated with royal icing are the perfect dessert for your Halloween spread.

In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together. Add egg, 1 tablespoon milk, and vanilla and beat until combined, then add flour, baking powder and salt until just combined. Refrigerate 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 350º.

Roll out dough until 1/8” thick. Using a ghost cookie cutter, cut out cookies. Re-roll scraps and cut out more cookies. Transfer to prepared baking sheets and freeze for 10 minutes.

Bake 8 - 10 minutes. Allow to cool.

In a medium bowl, combine powdered sugar, corn syrup, milk, and vanilla extract.

In a small bowl, place about 1/4 of the icing, and use black food coloring to make it black.

Spoon icing into a piping bag with a small plain tip. Pipe icing around the edge of each cookie to create a border. Fill in the middle completely with icing.

Place black icing in a piping bag with a small round tip and pipe eyes and mouths onto cookies.
