French Green Beans with Shallots – Haricot Verts

Ingredients

4 cups Water
1 pound Green Beans ends removed
3 tablespoons Butter
3 large Shallots sliced
4 Garlic Cloves minced
to taste Salt
to taste Black Pepper
1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
a pinch Sugar

    Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook beans for 3-5 minutes, or until the beans are bright green and soft. Drain and rinse under cold water.

    Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute shallot and garlic until soft and slightly browned, 5 to 10 minutes.

    Add beans, sugar, salt and pepper to the skillet, saute briefly.

    Sprinkle with lemon juice and serve!
